Dave DiCarlo

Dave DiCarlo was born in Milwaukee, WI., but grew up in San Diego.  He first became interested in law enforcement while working as an intern at the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Station in 1986. He then volunteered at the Sheriff’s Crime Lab and graduated from the San Diego Police Department Reserve Academy in 1989.  Upon graduation from the Sheriff’s Academy in 1993, Dave became a deputy with the Marshal’s Office until the merger with the Sheriff’s Department.  He has worked a wide variety of assignments, including Courts, Warrant Investigations, Extraditions, and Patrol.  He is currently a Corporal in the Encinitas COPPS Unit.

After obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Evidence Technology from Grossmont College, Dave graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, and then went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science from National University.

Dave has been married for 14 years to Jill, a Deputy District Attorney, and they have two beautiful and active daughters.  When he can find the time, Dave also enjoys skiing, scuba diving, mountain biking, off road sports and target shooting.

Dave served as a station representative for three years before he become a board member. His goals are to fairly represent all members of the DSA and to preserve the professional and ethical reputation the association and the department have achieved.
