DEPUTY SHERIFFS’ ASSOCIATION
SETS UP RELIEF FUND FOR WOUNDED DEPUTY

Deputy Colin Snodgrass, age 27, a four-year veteran of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department was shot during an armed confrontation with a suspect in Encinitas on February 20, 2013.

Deputy Snodgrass sustained what is presumably a shotgun wound resulting in severe vascular injuries to his right leg. Surgeons have removed bullet fragments and debris from the leg and have begun reconstruction on the bones. Deputy Snodgrass remains hospitalized. Multiple surgeries and months of recovery are expected.

A second deputy, James Steinmeyer, was also injured in the confrontation. He was treated and released the same day.

The Deputy Sheriffs’ Association of San Diego County has set up an account for Deputy Colin Snodgrass and his family through the San Diego County Credit Union, under “Deputy Colin Snodgrass Support Fund.” You may deliver contributions to your local SDCCU branch or to the DSA Office in Poway. You may also call the DSA Office at (858) 486-9009 x 100 to make a donation with a credit card.
