Three of the Board of Directors are elected by the Class 1 members each January, with each serving a three year term. The President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer are elected by the Board of Directors from the seated Board and each office is a two year term.

Hank Turner

President


Harold “Hank” Turner grew up in San Diego and started his career with the Sheriff’s Department early, as an Explorer at the Santee Station. Hired as a correction deputy in 1992, Hank transferred to patrol in 1994. In late-2004, Hank was promoted to Sergeant, working a variety of assignments at the EL Cajon Jail, George Bailey Detention Facility, the Santee and Imperial Beach Patrol Station, and the Child Abuse Unit. He is currently a Lieutenant in Courts

Early in his career, Hank acted as a DSA representative and served on several committees. Dedicated to the association, he chose to become active in the association again by running for the board of directors. He entered the board just before a tough negotiations period, as the county faced a severe economic low.

Hank has been married for 18 years and has three beautiful daughters that keep him busy.
