Retired members of the DSA met on Sept. 9, 2006, for their fall meeting and luncheon at the DSA office in Poway.

To open the meeting, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Retired President Rusty Burkett and the singing of America was led by Bob Torbett, dedicated to the memory of those lost in the 9/11 disaster. A prayer was given by Leon Hoffman.

James Duffy spoke briefly about the DSA and the building in which the meeting was being held. Bob Evans suggested that the members fill out a form containing a personal autobiography including time in the Sheriff’s Office.

This meeting was a great success with several speeches, good food and drawings for wonderful prizes. Everyone enjoyed the meeting. - Bill Lane
