On May 7, San Diego County will honor 80 fallen peace officers from throughout the county in a ceremony at Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. May 15 is Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, and the week in which May 15 falls is National Police Week. While national ceremonies take place in Washington, D.C., during Police Week, local and statewide memorials take place across the country throughout the month of May.
